Welcome to Xune Culture. This section is dedicated to giving you an insight into what happens behind the scenes, providing a weekly blog full of our current tasks and up to date achievements.
1 More Sleep until Christmas
Xune’s team of elves are ‘wrapping up’ their tasks for this week, embracing the role of Santa to deliver to our clients in time for the Christmas holiday (ho ho ho).
This year has been tremendously challenging for all of us, so it’s about time we deserve something to celebrate! Xune would like to thank everyone of our clients for their persistence and support throughout this long year, and would also like to wish everybody, old or new to this blog, a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic New Year: we shall see you ‘Xune’.
Meet the Team
The Fourth Week of Christmas: we’ve made it!
“On the last week of Christmas, Xune Solutions gave to me; Misha, the Managing Director and Sales and Marketer and Strategist and all round Big Chee-ee-se”.
Here is what Misha had to say:
What is the best part about working for Xune?
How dynamic and fast-paced the office environment is, closely followed by how supportive of one another we all are… That’s two things, am I allowed a third? … Office snacks.
How would you describe the team in three words?
Vibrant supercalifragilisticexpialidocious problem-solvers.
Do you have any favourite tasks?
From a marketing perspective, right now I’m really digging Google Ads though I enjoy most forms of marketing if I’m honest. And, in terms of new client acquisition and I always enjoy those initial conversations with potential clients. Hearing the passion in others voices as they talk about their business aspirations always motivates me to bring my A-game.
What task are you completing right now?
In general, I’ll split my time between sales, strategy and marketing so it’s hard to pick just one task. But one of my bigger tasks on the marketing side is I’m deep into an eCommerce optimisation project where the goal is to triple revenue. It includes facilitating a better fulfilment service, updating the product pages with videos and 3D models, creating Google Ads campaigns to support and following up with automated email campaigns to upsell. It’s a really exciting project and is throwing up just enough problems and barriers to keep it interesting.
If you were a superhero, what would your power be?
If I were a superhero I’d have the power of figuring out the Google Search algorithm … oh and the Facebook algorithm … and Instagram and LinkedIn and Bing and Amazon…
What would your superhero name be?
“In 2020, a mild mannered digital marketer called Misha Cunningham got into a freak accident involving a lighting storm and radioactive face mask while he was Googling the search term “how to figure out an algorithm”… When he awoke he was changed… he had the ability to get UK businesses in front of the people they cared about most… HE WAS ALGORITHM MAN!!!”
Pick a colleague and describe what superhero power you would assign to them.
I can’t pick just one, successful superheroes need their squad. I know Team Xune has my back in the fight against business invisibility.
Anna would have the power to telepathically assign tasks and give feedback.
Maggie would have the power to always write the perfect copy (or the power to regulate her body temperature, haven’t decided)
Spencer would definitely have super speed!
Jacob would know just by looking which website designs would get the highest conversion (bye bye a/b testing)
Anastasija would be the mastermind of the operation – her plans always come together
Elliot would be the muscle, we’d bring him in when we needed to roll out the big guns and get the job done
Robert would have the power to see the world in code (like Neo from the Matrix) – though he may honestly already have this ability…
Mihlali would be mission control – a superhero team needs a superhero admin
Keavi would have the power to mimic other people’s superpower but slightly weaker – the utility heroine
Phew, what a team… though on second thoughts maybe giving Anna the ability to read minds might be a bad shout!
How do you have your coffee?
Very very strong, black as the night and sweetened with sugar-free caramel Monin syrup. My lesser used Nutri-Ninja shakers double up as XL coffee flasks so I can consume more of the black nectar each day.
What is your favourite lunch?
Hands down my favourite thing to order in the office is Bubble Tea, we’ve got a running joke in the office regarding the name of the place we order from and this only serves to perpetuate this! I used to prefer fruity but now I’m digging warm caramel milk tea with tapioca pearls. I try not to make it a habit and feed my sweet tooth, but luckily I can rely on Anastasija to lead me astray just enough.
Do you have any hobbies?
I’m a gamer at heart so I play on my Google Stadia a few times a week. When the conditions are right I’ll catch shooting stars and other recurring astronomical events. And, I’m not ashamed to admit I really really well and truly love my job. So, I can often be found in an evening geeking out over planning a campaign, some new marketing tool or beta release of somesort.
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
‘Slow Ride’ by Foghat – “Slow ride, du dur dur dur, take it easy, du dur dur dur!” nah, jokes.
Mihlali likes to say that I’m a Drake stan and this isn’t going to do anything to dissuade her of that notion but it’s got to be “Life is Good” (feat. Drake) by Future. It’s like two songs in one.
Lastly, what is your favourite thing about Christmas?
Anyone who has read “The Chimp Paradox” by Prof Steve Peters can relate – if you haven’t read it then trust me you need it in your life.
But Christmas is for my Chimp, a reward for a full year of working so hard with so little complaint (shout out to my chimp! Whoop whoop). The New Year is for my mind, a time to reload and a cue to dare to dream even bigger.
